Space viewing last night

Hi everyone. Last night was weird as compared to other nights recently. I'm in Tasmanian and last week we had some fairly warm days. This week has been cooler temp wise.

The interesting point is that last night (cooler) there was more heat haze than the warmer days last week. Weird.

Scott, I find that often the seeing over the river is abysmal, the river maintains a fairly constant temperature, as the night air cools convection currents are set up over the river, that's my theory at least....

Thanks Phil. You're in Legana too. How bazaar. We should catch up and I can learn some things.

Could also be that the ground was still warm after last week's high temperatures thus warming the air that came in contact with the ground and creating thermals.

I think it's weird that although last week was hotter, there was less thermal interference then as compared to last night when it was cooler. You'd think it would be worse last week. Just an observation (no pun intended).
