NGC3532 cluster

One of my favourite open clusters in Carina. I first observed this in the 1970's with an 80mm Tasco refractor but it's nice in any telescope.

I got cut short by the weather so only 40 minutes of subs for this one, hence it's a bit noisy.

Kson ED80 at f5.5, Full Spectrum Nikon D70s, Baader semi-apo filter.

I liked it, and some red nebula is present.

I didn't this cluster, yet. It will be my target, too.

Hi Kevin,

No doubt about that modded Nikon, it really is quite sensitive!

Can't wait to see this one with more data.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice one Kevin, I like the bits of nebulosity in this area should pretty cool with some more data.

Had a look at this cluster a few nights ago with me 25x100 binoculars, the view is awesome

Thanks Rick and Jo.

Justin, the Full Spectrum Nikon is now my preferred camera for shooting clusters and nebula. It's way ahead of the unmodified Pentax K-x and even handles the heat better. I'm just waiting for a nice comet to put it to the test. Since comets are largely greenish I suspect the Pentax will be better as the inbuilt filter is of similar band pass to most comet spectra I've seen.

And I can just imagine would you could do with a modded camera, considering how good your unmodded pics are.

An amaizing amount of stars in there Kevin, the cluster is popping out real nice too, which I find not an easy task, so, great processing of a nice field and target, yep, top Image
