Modified DSLR vrs unmodified DSLR

Okay this is like comparing apples to oranges but that's kinda the way it has to be. I recently purchased a nice old Nikon D70s that has been modified for full spectrum use. Thought it would be better for Ha nebula than my unmodified Pentax K-x, and it is. (See piccy) Now I just need to cool it. The pics were taken at 27C. Gotta not love the tropics in summer.

I really miss live view on the old Nikon so focusing with a bahtinov mask helps.

Indeed I also thought about modding my 7d. But the downside is pink pictures when doing ordinary photography.
Custom WB is not the solution as I sometimes use another WB for e.g. incandescent or LED lighting which presets do not work anymore.
And with proper processing I can rather easily get the Halpha nebulas despite it is blocked by 70%.
Here an overview of the area between Deneb and Gamma Cygni.

There's always the option of a blue/green front lens filter that does the same job as the internal one.

You just get a clip in IR cut filter
Clip-Filter (EOS) with ASTRONOMIK L (UV+IR Block filter)
