Here's another from last night, of the crater Gassendi. The image is a mosaic made up of 3 avi's, aligned over 8 alignment points.

Each alignment point had between 140-200 frames stacked. I didn't do a great job aligning some of the sections, so some joins are visible. I might go back and fix it one day.

Taken with a 10" dob, 5x powermate with DMK21AF04 through red+IR block filter @ 30fps.

That is a really, really excellent mosaic – well done! Apart from the joins which you mention, the image looks very smooth and nicely processed. A very pleasing natural look with heaps of detail, all very well resolved.

The first thing that struck me was the image scale – this is a big image. I assume you must have had better than 6/10 seeing as the small stuff looks very nice?

Nice image, but tell me what are the 'goat tracks' inside the crater, they aren't outside anywhere?

Good start Mike. Being a farmer, I never realised that there were so many sheep up there. Just look at all those sheep tracks!

Obviously they are not goats, because they would climb out of the crater and go all over the place. They must be sheep.

Further study reveals there none other than Jpig tracks Lester....& you call youself a farmer?

Thanks for the comments guys. Dennis, the seeing was probably about 6/10, but fluctuated (usually to the lower end) a fair bit.

Jupiter, the "goat/sheep tracks" are sinous rilles.
