High Quality Photo Prints

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend me a reputable photo printing business. I would like to begin printing my photos out but want the prints to be a fairly high quality, some photos I plan to print to larger sizes (poster size, etc).

Anyone with experience with some reputable places? (I'm a bit doubtful of places like Big W or Harvey Norman but if anyone has good experience with them I would like to hear it).

I would like to know as well. I've always wanted to print some of the photos I have taken on a nice canvas frame so I can hang it up.

officeworks can do it and they're reasonably priced, for canvas.

Guys stay well away from the supermarket prints, they are printed on rubbish paper and low quality ink.

A place like Camera House are usually pretty good and they can do any size you like.

I do all my own stuff, and have done so for many years, it is the way to go, as you can buy the quality paper and inks, you prefer.

Image Science is a good place to start, and you can purchase any paper, ink, or whatever, posted to you door cheaper than you can buy elsewhere.

Several real estate offices use Office Works. I have had good results from them.

Problem with ink type photos is that they fade over time. Particularly if they are exposed to sunlight or even indirect sunlight.

Best ones are the old photograph type. I have one that is over 10 yrs old and still excellent condition.
A little research with Camera House may be the go as was mentioned earlier.

BigW, Kmart and OW prints are decent but they do not compare to high quality prints done by a proper print lab using quality paper, printer and ink.

Try Imagescience i always hear good quality stuff from them but theres also Vision lab and Pixel perfect in Sydney. Pro labs have strict requirements with the image you provide, otherwise they start charging you for extra work needed to be done.

You need to proof the images or pay extra. You can softproof it yourself but you need a calibrated monitor to use their printer profiles.

Reliable, friendly, inexpensive, excellent quality.

I've had many of my photographs printed by them for my customers, and I've never been disappointed with the results.

Under new management but originally it was owned by Ken Duncan who is one of Australia best known landscape photographers.

Mike (Iceman) Salway also uses them and promotes CFL on his website.

Check them out, give them a call. Note there's nothing in it for me.

I was going to recommend CFL as well Carlos. Mate of mine uses them. They don't print photos they use lasers to expose photographic paper so it lasts for decades. (at least 70 years I think has been mentioned.)
btw. they're up at erina but you can upload your files onto their site for printing.

Thanks all for the input, looks like there are a couple options. I also found Teds offer an online service (you have to download and use their software and it seems really top quality but pretty pricey). I guess not many people use it?

CFL might sound like a go, I'll check them out.
