I have owned a Questar 3.5" for many years now. (and yes, I have a few gold standard APO's as well)
The Questar looks like more like it was made by a jeweler, than a telescope maker.
You can plonk it on a table quickly find objects, and be rewarded with remarkable stability, ergonomics and superbly corrected views of the sun/moon/planets.
For heavens sake (excuse the pun

) the product has been around for 65 odd years with little, if any, modification....only superb design achieves that sort of longevity.
Sure it's not a deep sky telescope.
Good examples still pull serious money on Ebay/Astromart....and lots of luck getting $2-$3k for a chinese ED80.....
