Seen through a Questar 7 some years ago. Nowhere near as good as my 130 Starfire. Questars are massively overrated.

Having used a Questar 3 1/2", I certainly wouldn't swap my FLT110 for one. The Questar is certainly the ultimate travel scope though, with everything built in, a magnificent piece of engineering, for sure. Still wouldn't swap though.

I have owned a Questar 3.5" for many years now. (and yes, I have a few gold standard APO's as well)

The Questar looks like more like it was made by a jeweler, than a telescope maker.

You can plonk it on a table quickly find objects, and be rewarded with remarkable stability, ergonomics and superbly corrected views of the sun/moon/planets.

For heavens sake (excuse the pun ) the product has been around for 65 odd years with little, if any, modification....only superb design achieves that sort of longevity.

Sure it's not a deep sky telescope.

Good examples still pull serious money on Ebay/Astromart....and lots of luck getting $2-$3k for a chinese ED80.....
