40D CentralDS modified PRICE REDUCED

Great fun playing with a DSLR again but I've got to keep shedding gear I'm afraid and this must go.

It's a CentralDS modified 40D. See the attached pic - it drops temperature between 19-20 Degrees below ambient so through summer it will work at about zero and in winter, - well, you get the idea.

This one comes with an external power supply extra batteries, charger, strap, T-Ring and nosepiece and a great Intervalometer plus a 16GB CF card. It also has an external temperature monitor that can be plugged into the cooler itself although for the most part, it doesn't do much since the temperature gets down very fast and stays there.

Actuations = 10640.

$900 plus post.

Peter

Price reduction and pics added

Bump. Price dropped to $900. With all the extras, that's a great price.

How much does the setup weigh? By modified, do you also mean the IR filter has been removed/replaced or is the modification just the cooling side of things?

It weighs 1230 gms (without battery) compared with apx 740 in the "natural" state - and the Central DS mod includes "Spectrum Enhanced UV/IR blocking filter modification."

Thanks Peter. Does autofocus still work with the modification?

I don't know - you'd never use this camera for terrestrial work anyway, nor rely much on its autofocus.

In that case and for about 2/3 of the price of this camera alone, you should buy my unmodified 40D (see other advert) and my Samyang 14mm lens (see other ad).
Save a bundle and not have to deal with setting artificial white balance and having to deal with the extra 500 grams of weight in the cooler. You'd still have to manual focus though.
