Starlight Express Trius 694 driver problem

I received my Trius 694 camera today. But trying to install the drivers failed.

I load the drivers as per the instructions but I get an error message when trying to locate and install SXCCD.dl.

There only seems to be 2 files by that name, one under the 32 bit Win 7 Vista folder and one in the 64 bit folder.

My computer is running XP. I tried to see what version and it just says Service pack 3. I am not sure if that is 32bit or not and that is the problem. In which case I need an XP compliant SXCCD.dll file.

Any suggestions?

Greg.

See this link Greg.

It shows you how to find out what XP version you are running. (his screen looks like vista but in fact it is XP service pack 3)

Youtube link

Sorry I cant actually help with the driver, maybe shoot an email off the SX?

I think I resolved it. I ran system restore and then reloaded the drivers as 32 bit and they installed fine. Terry said perhaps some Win 8 drivers were installed.

Now to get it to work in CCDsoft. I found an updated CCDsoft camera plugin. Hopefully that works.

Hi Greg,

You might need to resort to ASCOM to get the Trius working in CCDSoft.

Try here: http://www.daddog.com/ascom/sxcamera

There is an ASCOM driver for CCDSoft. It's still at the SB website under Evan Warkentine. https://www.bisque.com/sc/members/evwark/default.aspx

Do let me know what works for you finally as I'm bringing back my Trius from the USA soon!

Thanks Peter.

There is a CCDsoft driver on the Starlight Express site. I downloaded that and you copy and paste the driver into c:programs.softwarebisque/CCDsoft/camera plugins

It worked first time after installation. There is also one for the filter wheel on their website. The AO unit though at this stage is not
compatible with CCDsoft.

Thanks Greg. Good to know as I want to avoid ASCOM.
