Hello from Newcastle area

Hi just an introduction

I have been involved with Astronomy since I was in school (a long time ago). But I moved to Sydney and was doing shift work about 15 years ago and just never had time to continue. Well I'm back in Newcastle working up this way and have more free time. I'm now looking for a place to buy that has nice dark skies (thinking near Cessnock) and drive to work is not too bad. So I can get back into astrophotography I just updated my scope with a new ZEQ25 Mount Orion 80mm autoguide scope.

So fun times ahead.

Welcome iandix, there are a fair number of ISS members in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Central Coast areas. Your local sky may not be to bad, I regularly get sky quality meter readings above 20 here at my place. We get out to dark sites on a regular basis so keep an eye out in the Star Parties sub-forum.
