Horsehead and Flame widefield

Hi all, image from last weekend. 35 x 5min sub with darks, flats and bias. Processed in Pixinsight and PS. Not an original composition I know but just wanted to see how I would go with it and it suits the fairly large field of view my gear offers. Image cropped about 20% for final presentation. I used the flattener/reducer.

Thanks all for the comments. I am pleased with how my rig is going. I am only doing 5 mins subs at the moment and would like the ability to do longer subs.

The guiding was generally okay on the weekend. I had a few instances where there were short bursts of wild activity where the phd2 graph showed 3+ pixel deviations and these subs were ruined but for the most part the graph stayed within a 1 pixel range and most of that time within .75 of a pixel.

I have no idea what caused these larger fluctuations. It all settled back without me changing settings or anything. Bit of a black art this guiding. I might make a post on the appropriate forum about it.

Cheers
Brett

Horsehead and Flame widefield

Nice shot Brett, good colour balance and the bright stars are not over blown. Here is my first go at the Horsehead and it's nowhere near as good as yours! Taken on Friday morning at Heathcote with a Tak 160mm newt and 60Da. Processed with DSS and PS4.
I have a lot to learn about processing!
Well done.
