Without wanting to be negative, I read that the weather was looking a bit iffy for a launch tomorrow. Hope the forecasters are wrong. I undertstand if this mission is straight forward, the next one may be to service Hubble.
Have a wonderful time, Rowena. What an experience that will be if all goes off without a hitch!

WOW! yay Rowena. Go Girl.
I would love to see and hear a lift-off in person!!!! It will certainly be something that will stay imprinted in your memory forever!!!!
Savour every second and just before lift-off look around and take in the whole atmosphere (the crowd, the excitement, the faces, etc), not just the lift-off. Remember the whole event.

yeaah.. the weather has been pretty bad over here. apparently tomoorrow (today for me now) is the best opportunity for launch. the launch at 3:49ppm here so will be 5:49 am over in AEST.
i am so excited! so the lack of sleep i have had in the past week will be well worth it!
The ksc area that we are at has a big screen and general seating area setup. I was at darling harbour for the sydney olympics opening, and im wondering how much the atomsphere will be the same as the opening olympic games at Sydney!
btw i am so glad i was not a Gemni astronaunt. went into a replica of their craft, i am just under 6 foot tall, and was probably 3 inchess too tall to fit. so i could just imagine how squished the astronaunts where!
wish i could beam back live pictures, but security is so tight over here. I cant even take in a back pack. so all camera gear is going into video camera bag.
hopefully its a great launch and god speed to the astronaunts.

Current info on NASA website says chance of launch being postponed by weather has dropped from 60% to 40%.
Don't forget folks that you can view plenty of launch coverage from the May 29th APOD page, ie the NASA TV channel.
As I'm at work now til 7am I guess I might just be sitting here to watch it.

I'm having probs with the APOD - NASA TV link that I mentioned above - these are all smaller images but there's several options on this page.
And may your preferrred deity, cosmic force, or non-sentient manifestation of the infinite chaos of the universe guide and protect this mission and it's 7 crew.

What a damn shame! The launch did not proceed past the final T-9 minute hold point due to weather concerns.
Next launch window: tomorrow morning our time, but 23 mins earlier than today, approx launch time 05:26 Oz EST.

Yes *cry*
However.... there are going to be a limited number oof tickets released for sale tomorrow morning for the causeway. which means you can see the shuttle oon the launch pad.
The atmosphere was great!! the launch is 22 mins earlier tomorrow, and 22 mins earlier each day it is delayed. This is so when they launch they can get to the ISS.
same again tomorroow
Letss hope it goes this time!
