observe the moon night 12 october 2013

My astro society (Newcastle Astronomical Society) conducted an observe the moon night last night at brickworks park in Wallsend. We had a brilliant turn out for the night, with the only real drawback being the huge amount of dust in the air due to the hot westerly winds stirring it up. Many gave blood due to the many varieties of mosquitoes as well. will post some pics later.

Did anyone else get out to do something like this?

There were some public viewing sessions happening in Brisbane as well. It was a good excuse to share the views with people.
