Hi all, sorry being a bit absent of late due to one or other.
Well, 1st light for the QHY-10 out Leyburn, which took a night and a half to figure-out the capture program enough for some semi reasonable data collection, and excited at what this camera is capable of, tho I'm far from utilizing its full potential yet, thats for sure.
I also need to calibrate the Gain & Offset values properly also, so I used estimated Gain 40 & Offset 120 which seem to be in the ball park somewhere ?
Also, this quick, hense: rough, result leaves a lot to be desired, tho Im excited with the 'Curtain ripples' behind the horsehead ! Please also forgive my Stars as they have no color and bad edges for starters & the whole image is just a quicky & a learning curve which the data would be a lot better off in experienced hand tho I hope to get bit better with practice
This result was a 3 of 6, dont ask DSS Stack of 1200 sec '20mins' Light subs, no darks, flats etc, at -35degs, 10" F4.7 newt, phd guide.

Well Bob I can see why you are excited sure, not the most technically brilliant HH I've seen , but the hallmarks of what you will be producing in the not to distant future are quite obvious...fast Newts rule too

hope you don't mind, I did a quick "wipe" from your jpg to see if the LP can be removed. I'm learning myself, so here goes.

Cheers Erick, am very happy with the camera and its data collection, guiding went well & skies were great. Also thanx for offering you Gain/offset values, have taken note There is a formular with exposure excercises etc to workout for individual cameras, soo looking forward to that

appreciate your kind words Michael and I dig the Fast Newts ability Am looking forward to figuring the finer processing, it seems a fair bit different than Dslr signal in processing.

Thanx Lewis, the compo was accident, but I liked it, I rotated the camera to compose a close up of Andromedia, then wanting to add data to other targets including, I was reluctant to de-rotate, so it stayed there for three nights, Lol , , Fast either way is very coool

Cheers & right you are Dave, I think I soughted the problem by ridding my side-by-side arrangement to piggybacking the guide scope, I also upgrade main scope bar from vixen to losmandy finally

Hey thanx Justin, yep, just a quick process onthis 1st time as was more interested in seeing if the new CCD would gather up the curtain detail in the background above the horse, , Ive never been able to do it with the stock Dslr ?
Funnily enough I spent time the prev night on this also, about 8 more 20min subs, but hey, I not fimiliar with the capture prog and didnt know to save to folder, the dslr auto saves to the card and yep, not one of the 8 other subs were saved lesson learnt & want to give another go next time

Ok, so this was the first light, excellent. Mirroring is a good thing, but overall, something to get excited over. I've now seen all your first images on this system in reverse order! The systems FOV is very nice, you'll have a great time with it for sure.
