Sept 28th Saturn & Jove in good seeing for the alt

Hi All,

Imaged Saturn very early last night. It is very low for me now and this will be my final data for this apparition. This is the 308th Saturn data set I have uploaded for this apparition to PVOL & ALPO. Of course the seeing was poor with considerable flag waving going on but in amongst it some useable frames. When I was processing I noticed that I have captured the long lived dark oval, it is best seen by dragging the image to & fro across the screen with a mouse. The movement helps to pick it out, it is just slightly toward the F side of the CM.
I have measured it to be at +45.4 L3 287, the data point fits my drift chart nicely.

Imaged Jove this morning in good seeing for the alt. Have attached an animation of 742nm IR data sets which resolves a plethora of detail. The individual data sets within the animation range from an alt of 25 degrees to 29 degrees.

Have also attached 3 of the 742nm IR images from the animation, fairly evenly spaced in time and also an RGB. The mid point of the RGB was at an alt of 30 degrees. I think this would be amongst the best low alt Jup data I have had for quite some time.

I note a quite prominent bright oval far South in the SPR, this appears in all 3 attached IR data sets and is obvious in the animation.
Oval BA is well resolved as is detail right across the field.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Superb images as usual Trevor. Keep posting great data and you may turn my head to doing a lot more planetary imaging.

Wow, that's a surprisingly good RGB Jupiter for the elevation.
