2013-09-20 Milky Way

These were taken from Bald Rock Creek at Girraween National Park on the night of the full moon - completely not ideal conditions with twilight from the sun and soon after the glow from the rising moon.

However, I could still see more of the Milky Way with my naked eye during this time than at any time from my backyard.

Same session for both images, just more culling of twilight affected shots in the second.

Around 30 to 40+ images stacked, 9 darks. ISO 1600, 15 sec exposures
Canon 6D, 28-135mm lens @28mm

Thanks - good data helps.

I went outside into the backyard tonight - a massive difference - which, of course I already knew, but it's certainly been reinforced after the visit to Girraween.

Prepping for a trip back there with my scope next time...
