Identical.

Bintel put a bintel sticker on theirs. That's the only difference.

zero. both are GSO made scopes. bintel just puts thier sticker on it and charges for it. andrews may or may not add an extra EP or 2 (prolly 500 series ones).

I purchased from Bintel, based mainly on reportedly good service and the fact that the primary mirror was centre spotted.

I found that Andrews were quicker in response to questions, and Bintel whilst slower in answer to questions, offered a little more information. Perhaps the most dissapointing factor was that neither were willing to give help, offer suggestions etc unless you ask specific questions. (some pretty basic information and you had to really force it out of them).

I have purchased from Bintel again, but found it to be of the same experience. (not interested in your purchase, only the fact that they have sold something).

Can't speak for 8" or 10" but the 12" andrews and bintel (same scope anyway) is centre spotted at the factory.

I faced exactly the same problem when I purchased my 8" last month. Bintel were great providing all the info, and because I work in the city, really wanted to buy from them, however the 30% greater price they were asking made it very hard to justify. I gave Bintel the opportunity to come down in price (not expecting them to match Andrews - afterall they do have greater overheads with city rent etc), but they weren't prepared to move an inch on their price....so Andrew's it was. Note also Andrews threw in a pair of binoculars and a few extra eyepieces.

Having said that, I really wanted to give Bintel the business, and I'll try make my next purchase there (as long as price is competitive!).

Regards, Mike
