Town Hall - Sydney

A pic taken a couple of days ago while staying in sunny Sydney. I tried out my Canon EF 18-200mm lens bought recently off IIS. The lens has turned out to be quite sharp and versatile around the city. Taken with my 450D and polarising filter.

You are looking at my work! I did the leadwork on the Clock Tower there.
It took 1 year. If you look closely on your image you may even see the lead cap on the top of the flagpole I did myself.

Nicely framed Steve, the Town Hall looks great tucked in front of those tall buildings, well done mate.

Hi Steve,

Nice shot with a bit of something old and bit of something new.

I was only looking down at it and the QVB from an apartment yesterday afternoon.
I even spied the aboriginal flag that was flying there and the red and white flag
that was on the building on the right in your shot.

In recent weeks the Town Hall clock tower had been covered in scaffolding
so yesterday I had scrutinized it in detail for some time so it is a subject that
is still very fresh in my mind.

Thanks for posting it.

Greg, that is wonderful to hear!

As mentioned, I really took my time to admire it yesterday and it is fabulous! Congratulations.

What's funny is that I even pondered how the caretakers would get to go up there, or up into the
cupolas on the QVB and pondered what a privilege it must be for them to take their guests up.
One of those parts of Sydney we all see but few of us get to go.
