Hi guys, I am relatively new to this site and do have a passion for astronomy (I am actually 2/3's of the way through studying for a Masters in Astrophysics at USQ - have already got my use from the telescope.) I am just wondering where I would sell my 14" Dobsonian Skywatcher telescope (brought it last year from Bintel at around $3,499.) I also have accessories which will be included with it such as a
Glatter 1.25"/2" Barlowed Collimator (RRP $300), a 2" 2X Televue Powermate (RRP $350) , 14" light shroud from Astrozap (RRP $100), and a battery supply for the GOTO system (also around $120.)
I have plenty of additional accessories too (i.e. telescope chair - paid $179 for it at Bintel... relunctantly I might add, but figured a good quality chair was essential, and believe me when I say it is a good quality chair!!) Astrononik 2" UHC Filter (RRP $250.) Am willing to take %30 off the original price of these individually.
I live in Geelong and will be moving to Tarneit, Werribee in about 2 weeks. The reason I'm selling is I just find it too damn strenous to transport and REALLY big in terms of taking up storage space + I just don't use it as much as I would like to given what was paid for it. In essence, I'm having an "astronomy garage sale."
Postage obviously will not be possible for these items.
Oh, and my wife really loves seeing it in our main bedroom every morning too!!
So yeah, if you guys could point me in the right location, I'd really appreciate it. Hell, if anyone's interested please give me an offer and let me know. The equipment is well looked after and in excellent condition. Pictures of the equipment and a breakdown of price will be provided in the appropriate forum (although in addition to this, your free to come and inspect the equipment for yourself too, I have no qualms about this - given the amount of money that is being requested.)
