Strange Movie Casting Choices
Ok there has been some weird casting choices, or word of, for up and coming movies e.g. Ben Affleck as Batman Justin Bieber as Robin (couldn't stop laughing at that one) but the latest casting rumour has me somewhat puzzled. Daniel Radcliffe is to play Freddie Mercury in biopic.

I like Radcliffe's work post HP but Freddie Mercury....nope, I just can't see him in that role. It is just as bad as Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher.

I think he can pull it off. Its a tough role but he is a good actor.
Remember Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison-nailed it.

Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison was an example of a good casting choice and add to the mix that Kilmer could sing.
Sacha Baron Cohen was the initial choice to play Mercury, a better choice than Radcliffe IMHO, but he pull out and Radcliffe is now set to play the role. To play Freddie Mercury the actor will have to project a huge stage presence to match Mercury's at 1.65m that is a big ask for Radcliffe. Anyway I hope you are right because if Radcliffe gets this wrong it could impact his career depending on how well the end movie result is received.

Worst choice EVER - that dope Hayden Christensen that portrayed Anakin Skywalker (teenager). Such deliberate, forced dialogue if ever there was. Looked like a grumpy teenage Samurai.
The young Anakin actor did a MUCH better job.

Thanks you 2 for reminding me of duds
I know the movie is utter kaka, but General Perez in Alien 4: Resurrection is really dodgy too. Then again, all the cast of Prometheus except Shaw, David, Vickers and Janek were rubbish.

Disagree - I think Fassbender did a decent job for David.
Guy Pearce was laughably insultingly BAD.
I really don't like Noomi Rapace (Shaw), but she carried it out OK. Holloway was ridiculously poor, s well as the 2 "scientists".
Ridley better make the sequel better, with not so much poor editing and massive plot holes.

If they put Justin into that movie, the only people who will go see it are his fans. It will crash at the box office.
For the other actors in the movie, I can't see it actually damaging their career, at least they'll get paid for their performance.
Val Kilmer was amazing as Jim Morrison. Loved that movie.

I think it's just that he was the least worst in it.

No argument here.

Why was her character English? Why couldn't she have been Swedish? That would have saved a huge amount of embarrassment all 'round.

Holloway was an utterly pointless character, while Fifield and Millburn are an affront to science. And again, why force Rafe Spall to fake a bad American accent?
Ditto Edris Elba and the worst cotton-picking bayou gumball accent of the century.

The good news is there's unlikely to be any more of this junk.
