Hi all. Below are some more pictures from my second ever AP session.
Can't remember the name of the bigger nebula, (I really need to come up with a naming system lol!)
I'm having trouble with stars in my pictures - they seem to keep coming out more like blobs than pinpoints. I've checked my focus and I know that's OK. Perhaps someone more experienced than me (ie, everyone) could provide a few pointers on how to remedy this?

Hi Greg , nice sharp images . the lagoon and ring nebula are very blue , try tweaking the colours in PS or something similar . What camera / telescope and settings were you using , DSLR's give very blue images but I'd expect a tinge of red or magenta somewhere.

With regard to your star blobs, how do you ensure that you are focussing
accurately? because I am sure you have a focus problem. It has to be
absolutely spot on to get pinpoint stars. I assume you are using a
DSLR, if so are you using Live View to focus, or perhaps a Bahtinov
mask. Do you take some trial short exposures, and make sure your focus is spot on before starting your evening's imaging?

Don't try too hard to make the sky background appear black (hint: it's never truly black anyway). It appears that you're clipping (cutting out) actual signal in an attempt to remove noise. It's okay to let a little noise through.
nice work Greg,
A great start to AP, you have to be happy with those!
My first lagoon looked very similar to yours.
You're getting quite a bit of coma around the edges (which is normal!) so when you get some spare cash you might want to look at getting a coma corrector like the MPCC. Till then you can frame the object carefully, and crop the pictures a bit to reduce the effects of the comet-like stars.
I also suspect the collimation isn't quite spot on too.
What was your camera settings? Are you stacking subs in DSS?
