Robofocus on an unusual scope

I wish to add a robofocus or similar to my DED108SS, WITHOUT modifying ANYTHING.

Was considering to make a bracket that attaches to the tube rings to hold the motor, and then a fairly long toothed belt to go over the existing focuser knobs.

Who are the best to get such parts from? Was considering to buy Moonlite's stepper kit, but add the belt.

Or does someone already make something adaptable?

Picture of focuser attached. KIND OF like an FSQ106 focuser.

how about using a FLI PDF or DF2 focuser? All you'd need is a PreciseParts adapter and you'd be in business, without ANY mods to the Vixen

Love that FLI focus gear, but from memory, getting into a PDF is about 5x the price of a standard Robofocus setup... ouch. Boy are they nice though...

Lewis, most people make their own DIY brackets to fit Robofocus to exotic scopes. Easily done. Here's my DIY setup for the little FS60-CB. Parts from burnings.

Thanks. All that is worked out (pending arrival - already got the aluminium plates etc), but where to get the fine toothed belts from? The RC helo stuff I looked at weren't long enough.

Belts and pulley setup are for the SCTs. See the Robo site for details.

Gold metal shaft coupler, like you see on mine, is what should be used for retractors.

Their site is playing up a bit. The pics won't load on my smartphone. Here's the page anyway:

http://www.robofocus.com/services.htm

Direct drive to focuser shaft is preferred. Belts may introduce some slop?
