F1 news - Daniel Ricciardo gets Red Bull seat

Red Bull have announced Daniel Ricciardo has been promoted to the Red Bull car
in 2014 now that Mark Webber is retiring.

It will be good to still have an aussie to cheer for in F1 next year. Daniel has shown plenty of promise as an more than capable driver to match it with the big boys, now he is one. As long as the Red Bull cars are competitive next season, so will he be.

Red Bull have chosen Daniel Ricciardo to replace Mark Webber in the team next season.

Red Bull chief technical officer Adrian Newey likened the team's decision to promote Ricciardo to that of his former team Williams to sign Damon Hill to partner Alain Prost when Nigel Mansell left the team at the end of his title-winning season in 1992.

Hill went on to become team leader following the death of Ayrton Senna in 1994 and won the world championship in 1996.

I am sure the Australian crowds will be cheering loud for Dan down at Melbourne
next year.
