Damn it!

It's back.

4 years ago I dislocated my left shoulder. Took about 8 months total to heal, and another year of nagging pain during sleep etc. Been fine for the last 2 years at least.

Today, I lifted something - I don't even remember what, but it wasn't heavy, and pop! I did a little jig like Mel Gibson did in Lethal Weapon, and got the ball in the socket again, but now the muscle pain and nerves are firing BIG time again, even when I move my head. DAMN IT TO HELL!

Popping paracetemol and Celebrex. Got a beanbag of heated buckwheat on there. Didn't need this shiat all over again

I am getting old...

i know your pain Lewis!

Both of my shoulders have been dislocated on several occasions before (although thankfully not both at the same time!) - initially from snow skiing, but now they are both so weak that I can dislocate them quite easily doing trivial tasks such as swimming, tennis, or even just reaching behind me to pick up something of moderate weight. I'm very cautious at the snow now too, and always ski with my shoulders taped.

Thanks Richard.

The paracetamol and Celebrex are working - the pain is still there, but greatly mitigated now.

You'll need to get "her indoors" to lift the CGEM for you. :-)

Hi,

Oh that brings back painful memories. I dislocated my right shoulder 13 times before eventually having to have the ligament screwed back on the socket margin.

If you experience continuing nerve symptoms, like numbness, weakness, or spasms, after a dislocation, do have it properly checked over.

They don't do that ghastly old procedure with a pivot pin anymore I believe.

Good luck
