Moderation/Admin

I'd like to thank the admins and mods for the work they do to keep IIS running smoothly. Having had a peek into the world of moderating over at cloudynights I can say that it's a necessary but often thankless task.

There will always be debate about particular decisions, not least between the moderators themselves, but given the amount of free time they devote to the job I think we should give them our support even if a decision is questionable.

It's worth noting that moderation on IIS is far more relaxed than on Cloudynights.

Yes, it’s good to recognise and acknowledge the work that the site managers, admins and mods put into Ice In Space, a vibrant and stimulating community where we can interact with such a diverse range of enthusiasts, as well as learn stuff and share our experiences and knowledge.

And all for free too!

What a great community.

Cheers

Dennis

Mike and Terry (mojo) have done an amazing job with IIS, a top quality astro forum which is also easy to navigate, logically set out and great to look at.
I've worked along side most of the moderators of IIS over the years and it's my privilege to call them all my friends as I do with Mike and Terry and a lot of the members of this site.

At the end it is the member's contributions that complete the feel, flow and rhythm of the forum so well done to everyone, it's an honour to be part of this community.
Not always easy to make a moderator's decision because you know there'll be someone who may not be satisfied with your decision but if you can make that decision with a clear conscience, to me, that's all you can ask of someone.

Yes, thanks guys. Good moderation is like good lubrication: you want enough to smooth out any friction, but not so much that it runs all over the place. It is such a nice luxury to be a able to take all of you for granted.

Excellent work.

Ah, the serenity...
