Taken on an RCOS 10" RC Scope at f9, SBIG STXL6303E Camera and PME mount.at itelescopes Siding Spring Observatory.
12hrs of 3nm Ha, 40 min subs bin1, 2.6 hrs each of 3 nm SII and OIII 20min subs bin2.

Zoom, zoom, zoom Fred!! But don't forget to stretch, stretch, stretch as well! There's more impact to be had if you do IMO! One curves layer did the trick when I tried it! (edit: the donut went 3D)
Nice donut. The bok globules on the right edge of the fiels look very well defined too. When's the next panel coming? Do we have to subscribe to Fred's 'no BS widefield' live feed?
Perhaps bit less green channel, thats where the noise usually is as well. Stars have a light blue and a bit of magenta in the right side could be tamed. Getting neutral stars in NB is a bit of a trick. Selective colours or colour channels and swapping colours only on stars may be one way. Martin Pugh has a method. He told me once unfortunately I forget the fine details of it! There's always RGB stars which look best.
Actually Greg, green is Ha, it had the best signal. As usual the other 2 were woeful, next to no SII (blue). I agree, RGB stars is the go, I might do that, I banged this one out a bit quick, need to take my time.. Otherwise I just give up and only leave Ha stars as white. The slight blue fringe made the stars pop in this case, so I left it.
Looking at it again its not really that green more mustard. I take it you are using the clipping masks approach of Don Goldman? (it works best I have used and you have total control).
