First Time Post

Hi All
This is the first time I have ever posted an image.

It isn't particularly good as I know next to nothing about processing.

After some advice from some experienced eyes on technical aspects such as focus, collimation, tracking and guiding etc at this stage. If anything appears awry please comment.

Or feel free to comment on anything about it.

M 17:12x5 minutes in luminance, captured, guided, calibrated, stacked and stretched a bit in MaximDL. Nothing else has been done.
QSI583wsg through a 10 inch Newtonian at f3.8.

That is looking good Mark, focus, guiding, and processing all ticked my boxes.

Nice one Mark. It needs a stretch. Image seems linear. I gave it a quick stretch with StarTools. Lots more data in there.

+1 - Stretch that bad boy... 5min exposures with a big light bucket and a good CCD like yours will have a lot of data in there....
