Smokin'!

Out under a perfect QLD sky imaging NGC6302, and doing eyeball astronomy between subs. Up to 12 meteorites, with FINALLY one smoker! Smokevtrail very visible, as well as the audible crackle. Very happy to finally see one.;

Clouds arrived here (Brisbane southside) around 11 pm... probably headed up your way soon Oh well, not too shabby considering the past five nights of dusk-to-dawn clear skies!

Dave, right you are - just packed up. Reckon I still had another hour, but the dew was becoming almost unmanageable. Besides, NGC6302 had settled too far west anyway, where I have SEVERE light pollution.

Ended up doing some nightscapes, that look good in camera at least. Hopefully that holds true in post-processing

Great night, apart from the data. 2.5hrs down the sink - ALL slightly out of focus, despite the very small FWHM... the seeing was THAT good that obviously an FWHM measure of 1.06 was not small enough!!! Perfect tracking, perfect framing, perfect everything BUT the focus.

Ah well, tonight is another night
