Very nice pictures of Saturn and Venus ralph. were those pictures taken on the 6th of August this year? I saw a very bright white star out around 6pm this evening and i suspected it was maybe jupiter or saturn or maybe venus.

Yes Brett, taken on the 6/8/2013. Venus is high in the west just on dark and Saturn is almost overhead and slightly west. That is at my latitude of course in Cairns. Jupiter is rising in the eastern early morning sky with Mars.

Thanks Trevor,
I got quiet a lot of data last night, these were the first two cabs off the rank. Seeing was not good but will look at the rest in the next few days. I figure it's best to have the data at hand rather than be waiting to capture it. The B/L image is from my ASI 120mm and I am looking forward to some more experience with this camera.
