Sydney at Night

After taking some pics of the Crescent Moon and Venus, we grabbed some dinner (Pie Face yum!) and drove over the bridge to Jefrey's St Wharf.

These are panoramas of 11 and 7 images with the Canon 6D, 24-105mm lens, ISO1000, f/7.1, 5s exposures.

- Large 1
- Large 2

The bats flying over the top of the bridge must've been catching moths or something? There was a lot of them, and they were very bright with the reflected spotlights on them.

Thanks

Very nice. It is interesting to see that the dominant coloured lights from the buildings are are the ones reflected onto the water.

Those are great Mike

The bats are after those huge moths over the spot lights, it's quite a spectacle especially if you're walking across the bridge and see it close up.

Graet shots Mike!

I think you'll find they were seagulls not bats.

Fabulous!

The Bridge pano would look better if you cropped it slightly, that triangle in the corner violates a compositional rule and it is a bit eye catching in an otherwise sensational image.

Similarly the other image may look better cropped to remove the Bridge coming in at the right side, its a tad distracting also.

Those birds are there every night catching insects attracted by the bright Bridge lights.

Greg.
