Two jets crossing the Moon, 24 July 13

Hi all,

I managed to capture not one but two jets crossing the Moon yesterday evening, as it rose through the flight path for south-bound aircraft departing Brisbane. The two transits occured about 8 minutes apart. Here's a combined images showing the two jets together on the Moon, and the individual frames.

There's also a 2 mb animation showing both transits here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephen...n/photostream/

Unfortunately there were some out-of-focus tree branches in front of the Moon, which has led to some dark patches in the animation, but I'm still happy with the result.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Now you have started something Stephen, two jets, who will raise it to three, nice capture indeed.

Oh c'mon!!! Two!

Very cool Stephen, well done

Some of us have trouble just shooting a decent moon.

Edit: Arrh, they're two shots layered (read before posting Rod)

You can still have the bowdown

Looks excellent Stephen - I thought for a moment you got them at the same time - that would have been crowded!

Fabulous composite! I love the distortion due to the exhaust.

Hi Stephen - you inspired me to muck around with some old data - while imaging the Sun back in May I had two brief transits on back to back AVIs - I did your thing (I like your duo moon transit pic) and put them in one pic!
