This is not a purely astrophoto in the conventional sense but I thought I'd share it anyway.
I was out and about taking shots of the city scape last week and tonight the clouds parted as I was going home, so I stopped in between Sydney and home where it was very dark and away from city lights and I snapped 25 x 10 second Milky way pics on the 24-105mm F4.0L Lens at 24mm. Stacked them in Nebulosity and replaced the sky with it.
I wanted to get as much of the MW visible as possible but wanted to minimize the trails, so the subs were shot as ISO12800.
Christopher the city shot was taken at 105mm, 1.6sec exposure ISO100. I took 4 close up segments to create a high resolution panorama and exposed the water separately for 2.5 seconds.
The full resolution of the original is 112 megapixels... So a 1:1 crop of the original you can actually see into the buildings through the windows.
I'm thinking of tweaking and leaving a little more of the city sky glow close to the buildings.
