Interesting Article - Quantum Tunneling

http://arstechnica.com/science/2013/...tum-tunneling/

There is more going on out there than we think.

And on that high note I celebrate my 2000th post.
If I wasn't doing Dry July I would call for drinks all round, ... sorry guys

Congrats. Is Dry July a NZ thing? We see a "FebFast" promoted here - dry February, detoxing from the silly season.

Nah, it's on in Australia as well. Not sure where it started but it's not a big cause yet like Movember has become but it's growing. We like it because it allows you to select where your moneys goes and everyone has lost someone to cancer so it's a good cause.

Quantum tunnelling.Impossible chemical reactions.Just goes to show how much we still dont know or understand, about what actually happens in interstellar clouds.Chemistry could be radically different at these temps.Cheers bigjoe.

Photosynthesis relies on quantum tunnelling. Are plants smarter than us, as they did this a few billion years ago!

The plants do not care as far as we know! It is only this thing called science that gives us a glimmer of understanding.

We are unique as far as I know that we can contemplate things far beyond our natural reach of our senses and time.
