Large Prominence Sunday 14th July 2013

Hi All

Some lovely prominence activity currently on the sun. Captured this morning, with conditions a little unstable and high cloud drifting through the views here in Sydney. Thanks.

Ted

Thanks John. Taken with Lunt 80 single stack, 2.5x powermate and 2x barlow, DMK41 camera, from my recollection gamma for proms at about 180 and gain likely to be around 300. Grabbed about 1500 frames and stacked about 300. Composite, sharpening, in PS.

Amazing shot! I would love to get one of them Lunt telescopes one day, a shame they are expensive.

Agree expensive, but a good PST is surprisingly effective and in my opinion, reasonably priced.
