The Sun during Cassini's Saturn/Earth Picture

Yesterday morning between 7:27 and 7:42am AEST the space probe Cassini imaged Saturn as the planet covered the Sun. This allowed for viewing of ring and atmospheric structures not seen in normal lighting. Earth was also planned to be in the picture with a worldwide "Wave at Saturn" campaign run to comemmorate the event. As Australia was on the other side of the planet, and the Sun not visible to Cassini, I thought I might take a picture, during the event, of the Sun.

Thanks for looking

Tom

Very nice Sun photo Tom, it really gives me a feeling of a spherical body. Maybe this is because of how the sunspots were displayed at the time of the photo.
I haven't seen this effect in many other Sun photos.

Nice disc Tom - a fine tribute to wave at Cassini alignment.
