Jupiter tonight - quad treat at 8pm
GRS, IO, Ganymede and JNR spot.
Jetstream looks bad for everyone, except lucky tasmanians. Nonetheless, 4x powermates in and any extension tubes.
Asimov will be our guest coach tonight and Gus Hidding has nothing on how tough asi will be on us tonight re positive thinking.
Image clouds if needs be!

First night out with 10" dob, saw the GRS for first time, no Red Jr though, fantastic detail, is there a moon shadow on the top cloud belt ie the one without the GRS?
Also did anyone see a satellite or whatever whiz past Jupiter at 7.00 pm SA time?, also saw 2 other satellites through the scope and 2 shooting stars by naked eye, will prolly stay out till the soccer comes on, oh and caught Saturn and Mars as well, took a few pics but I doubt they will be any good.

Rain, clouds and jet stream in Brisbane. Early night tonight it seems. Good luck to those out there still trying.
Cheers

Yep, I walked outside at 7:30 last night & saw the twinkling going on, no need to set up the scope to behold the truth.

Had things set up, just in case, but the cloud persisted. Maybe tonight, though the clouds - after a clear and sunny morn - are slowly beginning to congregate. It looks a bit icy up top-side as well, which I guess won't help even if the lower flock decides to disperse.
Damn shame that; I was looking forward to playing around with my collimation to find a decent bench mark for future settings. Ah well.
*edit*
Yup! 'Scope's back in the house. It's raining. Grrr.
