Hi Guys,
After spending a few more hours today in the afternoon finally got tracking and balancing right. After doing this right, I now noticed my mounts goto are dead centre on my CCD chip compared to before. btw do you guys use a leveler to level the mount?
Although seeing tonight here in Melb is around 3/10 mark, i just can't wait to test my new equipment out. First target I wanted to test out was the Keyhole in ETA Carina. Very visable object and a common one too.
Took 15 x 84 second exposure shot at it and was quite impressed consider the seeing was 3/10. I noticed now im getting coma around the edges or maybe still abit of tracking error. I'm guessing because the DSI II CCD is larger in size.
Stacked using Registax and processed in photoshop CS2. I have also captured a few screenshots while doing this so I can start compiling a tutorial for IIS with the DSI/DSI II.
First image using sharp and second using soft. -1 frame on first pic due to error.
A comparsion to my previous setup now:
- Objects seem more sharper
- A slightly bigger fov. objects are a tick smaller
- 4 diff spikes now instead of 6
- Pixel size from imager (DSI II) seem smaller than before
Anyway guys, hope you like these. Have also captured more images another 10 or so tonight but since it is 3.56am, time for bed lol. As always comments welcome good bad
