Good detail coming through Ian!

Fairly short exposures, were you imaging without an auto guider?

Cheers,

Justin.

No, I didn't use autoguider, and it's the reason why stars are not perfectly round and the overall focus is "softish" ...

I have the Astronomic EOS clip-in filter, but, in my opinion not shared by others, it spoils the data, and I don't use it !!!

Hmm interesting.

That does make sense. I'm having a lot of trouble calibrating some images in Pixinsight using the batch processor. The CLS was used on lights and flats and there seems to be very low signal and hence a lot of noise in the red channel.

Anyway, again, very nice image, your results are very encouraging

Thanks, Bob …
Well, the alignment was good, but not perfect, when you zoom-in you can see stars a little bit out-o-shape, but in overall it’s acceptable.

A pleasing result Ian. I like the blue colour shining around some of the dust lane edges. The high-res image is definitely the go!

As a matter of interest, how long approx. does it take you to process 30 subs through the PixInsight workflow?
