Greetings,
finally got a holiday and I am starting to contemplate the assembly of my new system. Always a dilemma but... such is life.
My question is around weight distribution. I have a C14 edge and a W.O 132 to mount, as well as some other bits and pieces, on a PME 2..
Note: The mount can easily cope with the mass of any combination I am contemplating.
Eventually, once the dome is built (haha), this will be a hyperstar system but I also want to use the C14 as a long fl scope and also image with the W.O. 132..
C14 will sit in the forks of a Homeyer scope cradle mounted directly to the Versa plate and the W.O.132 has its own rings. I would prefer the C14 sit centrally and I don't really want to rotate the Versa Plate 90 degrees for a SBS setup.... if I can avoid it. I have, however, balanced and used SBS systems before without issue.
So, choices:
1/ Make a tandem bar for the W.O 132 and mount that to the side of the C14, but then have to counter balance about 10kg on the opposite side of the mount.
2/ Potentially (?) stick the W.O 132 on a D plate mounted on top of the C14. This has raises the issue of flexure, (amongst other things), and may be physically not a good idea for the C14... (10-15kg weight).
3/ SBS
Any thoughts? (apart from, "You are freakin crazy?"

)
