Saturn & Mars in the Beehive

I had to drag my WO 80mm 'scope and Vixen GPDX equatorial mount into the study, poke it out of the window then rough polar align it using a protractor and compass, just to grab this image. The threesome were setting into the light polluted dome of Brisbane so I grabbed 10 x 30 sec images with my Pentax *istDS camera and 80mm f7 WO refractor.

Pentax *istDS, 10 exp of 30 secs, 200ASA, 3008x2000 jpg’s.

Aligned and Combined in ImagesPlus with final image re-sampled down to 654x1024.

I have included a screen image from Starry Night Pro for comparison - pity it looks better than the real thing!

Cheers

Dennis

now there's something you don't see everyday

send it in to the Mag's Dennis, that's a pretty rare collection of objects worth showing around
