Qhy8 IR filter question using a CLS Filter

OK I need some assistance please. I need to use a light pollution filter for my imaging. I have a color QHY8 CCD and as far as I am aware it has its own IR filter fitted as standard. I have been looking at the Astronomik cls and CCD version filters. I have been told by Bintel that I need the CCD version for my camera. However if I understand this correctly that may not be the case as my camera has an Ir filter?

Has anyone had experience with this before I hand over my cash. The way I see it the CCD cls filter has a built in IR and the basic one does not..

Am I correct or have I missed something.

You should be able to use just the CLS. According to the Astronomik info on the CLS and CLS-CCD the only difference is the IR blocking on the CCD version. I guess it wouldn't make any difference if you used the CLS-CCD as you can't really block the same light twice...?

If it was me I'd get the CLS-CCD so that if I got a different camera which didn't have a built-in IR blocking filter then I could still use it.
