First light - D7100

Just a quick snap tonight of the Keyhole Nebula with a D7100.

Some quick adjustments in LR4.

Single 20 sec exposure
ISO 800
14" SCT
94% Moon
Cropped to about 75% of full size

Yes Mike, but nothing like your superb results. This was literally a snap taken just before dinner on Friday evening. The 7100 wasn't bought for AP, but it's always interesting to see how a camera responds.

Thanks Erik and Peter. It wasn't quite instant; I had to wait 20 seconds for the ICNR!

I might try it again without Moon and see if I can focus a little better (my neck hurts trying to see the back screen of the DSLR) with Eta Car that high in the sky.

Nice capture Chris.

The Nikon shows promise....they have come a long way from the D200.

Ross.
