DMK 21AU04.AS versus ASI120MM

Ok. DMK on the left, ASI on the right. You'd have to look at the specs for each camera & weigh things up although it's all about visual image quality & that's that. Don't forget to weigh up resolutions: 640 X 480 for the DMK. I used 1024 X 600 on the ASI with it's maximum rez being 1280 X 960. DMK is 8 bit ASI 12 bit.

12 pane mosaic for the DMK and 6 for the ASI. Same wavelett scheme for both. Same post processing for both. The seeing was worse in the DMK image.

The ASI final image has been significantly reduced in physical size to match the DMK final image size.

It's not a good comparison because I know the seeing was off in the DMK set, damn it

Well done Johno, That puts the PST to the next level. The detail is heaps better. Just when you though you had reached the plateau. Much better to come as you come the grips with the camera.
Do one at full res and see.

Individually, images from both the DMK and AS120 look very good, but when viewed side-by-side, the ASI does seem to produce a more pleasing and less “blocked up” image.

Thanks for the comparison; I appreciate the work that must have gone into this.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks guys. Take note with the DMK result, the best seeing were in panes one & two which are left hand side with number one being at the top, so this is how the image was supposed to look as a whole. Not much in it at all if you study both images top left.
