Well yes. I bought a titan with the V2 controller - have only used that once - hated it - so stuck on my g1 from the G11 and haven’t had a problem. I do need to update it as it was with the g2 version when i got it two years ago.
Now as for the EQ8 - slightly bigger capacity, same controller as the eq6 - easy parts that way, the big unknown is the hardware - but i have faith

in all things new

. i made a conscious decision to leave the titan in the observatory and that this new mount will be the travel setup - where one can use anything they like including multiple scope setups. I intend to use the 14" ACF Meade I bought 3 years ago with a guide scope on top and a camera strapped underneath for some wide fields

that will leave the g11 to run the solar astronomy part of the day - so I don’t have to change that setup

. 24 hours of astronomy never looked better

but now that brings me back to reality - its big, heavy and a lot to lump around - will it be better in the end

. it comes down to how much you value the experience. $4k is better value than $8K , 50kg is better than 45kg, easy to use hand controller - same software to use on PC

. My Eq6 has been outgrown by my needs so this is the next level i can afford. I think it will be a boon, like its predecessor
