Clark Rubber sell foam tubes that you slide/pull on over the aluminium tube. I am not sure how many different diameters they sell but I bought some there a year or so back that would fit a 1" tube. I suggest trying there to begin with.

IF you are talking about the Soft foam covering you could use Hot water/aircon pipe lagging??.

I have a 12" Lightbridge, originally the truss poles were anodized silver/grey.
I wanted them to be black, so I used heat shrink to cover the poles.

They are easy to handle in the extreme cold, and are cheap to purchase.
Here is a link to the ebay site, where I purchased mine.

I've bought it from Bunnings in the past. It was dark grey though, not black.

bunnings do indeed sell 1 metre lengths , for $3.40 each and it is grey

A little hard to find as its so light the tend to shove the boxes up high in the plumbing section.
