Sorry for the shameless promotion again. I love sharing with my IIS family though as you guys have been here with me since I started this love of photography
I was delighted to see this morning that a story I had done for the local paper about my Tourism West Australia win, was also ran in the national Daily Telegraph paper, in print and online!
If you get the Daily Telegraph today, page 27! Online version: http://bit.ly/19r7jW9
Or page 3 of the Central Coast Express Advocate.
Do you have contacts with your local paper to whom you submit your stories to?
Just in case I ever hit the big time, I'd love to do the same. Highly unlikely, but, you never know.
H
I originally sent an email to the local paper (just editor@...) because they originally ran a story when I first won the Ken Duncan competition last year, and suggested they might like to do a follow-up if they thought it's news-worthy.
A lady rang me, had a chat, took some quotes, I sent her the images and voila, it appeared in the paper.
I had no idea it would be syndicated to the national paper!
There is now this closer tie-in between the local papers, such as the Central Coast
Express Advocate, and the Daily Telegraph which in turn is part of the new
News Limited subscription model, which in turns ties-in with things like Fox Sports, etc.
etc.
So that's the path by how your local paper article managed to make the jump
to national coverage.
Great stuff!
As I said before, it really was the prize that keeps on giving!
Congratulations Mike. Saw your work in the local paper today. Your work is getting better and better. Looking forward to seeing more of it in the future.
Bones.
This is great Mike, my mom cut out an article out of paper to show me (as she often does) and as soon as I saw that image I instantly recognised it as yours. What a great way to end the working week!!!
