NGC6357, NGC6188 and Lagoon

2 very good nights in Sydney, transparency & seeing were really good. In fact last night I managed for the first time to see the faint outline of the milky way from my Sydney inner city backyard.

Did all narrowband imaging, tried my best with the Hubble pallette processing, but cant seem to get the colours right.

Taken with the FSQ106 and QSI583 camera, on the HEQ5 mount.

1. NGC6357 (this was interrupted with high clouds on Sat night)
3x10mins each of Ha, SII and OIII

2. NGC6188
8x10mins each of Ha, SII and OIII

3. M8 Lagoon
8x10mins Ha only

Victor.

Nice work, Victor. Fortunately, there are no "right" colours for narrowband

Thanks for the feedback guys...

Sorry been out for 2 days, had the flu shot the first time and it knocked me out for 2 days!

@RickS... for the narrowband colours, I looked at some others and I guess my impression of the "right" colours that I aim for are those beautiful turquoise & golden hues

Those colours are there Victor, you just need to balance it up.
Your red is clipped and to the left of green while blue is off to the right.
I just used levels on each colour to put em on top of each other.
Repo time
