10 image Moon Mosaic and Saturn from 18.5.13

Hi. I got to give the ASI120MM a good test on the weekend including having a go at a Moon mosaic for the first time.
I'm pleased with the results as there have been a few trial and errors.

1. 10 panel Moon Mosaic of the 1st quarter waxing gibbous phase.
each panel was 1000 frames at prime focus on the SW 8" f/5 blue tube.

2. 7000 frame Saturn set to 40% in AS!2. Had to drop back to a single 2x barlow with the ASI120MM to get a clearer image. I was happy to capture to Hurricane storm on Saturn's North pole.

and a few random Moon images with 2x and 2 2x barlows joined together to get 4x and a focal length of 4000mm.

I'm looking forward to doing a full moon mosaic. I might go a bit easier on the sharpening next time

Cheers,
Steve.

The mosaic looks good Steve.

Look forward to the full Moon version.

I did some lunar observing over the weekend, its good fun just having a look
every now and then.

Thanks Rod. It was good to pass the time with the Moon while waiting for it to get lost so I could do some deep space

Thanks Stefan. In the end it was easier than I thought it would be. I gave the frames sufficient overlap which helped.
