Winter arrives early ......

It has been a bit cool up here this week. Last night I set up the scope only to retreat when I found the OTA coated in snow,
so today I went up the hill to have a look if I can still get the tripod down on solid ground:

This is at Spencer's Creek just an hour ago: -1C ( might have to find a jumper and start waxing the skis again !!! )

Yay indeed Keith, last year I only managed to ski 65 days, this year I hope to top that by at least 10 days. My usual day is 3hrs of fast downhill with my son followed by 15 to 20klms of XC Skating on the Perisher trails and finally 2 or 3 Bitburger beers at home.

Well done Lewis, that makes sense !

We have had the fire going for a couple of weeks so far,

Just spent some time sorting out the winter arsenal, my weapons of choice:

The skinny green carbonfibre ones for XC Skating and the Salomons for fast cruising

Relativity theory

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the great photos!

Suddenly Trevor (Quark's) choice of living in the heat at Broken Hill makes sense.

Best Regards

Gary

Chris, I lived in Mooloolaba for 12 years, I know what sort of weather you guys can get !!!!!
I still have a townhouse up on top of Buderim just in case it gets too cool here.

Thanks Gary, Astronomy is the perfect off season sport for me, during winter I don't have the strength at the end of a day on the trails to carry the "grunt&go" system out.
About all I manage to do is "Bitte ein Bit" Bitburger is the preferred brew at our house.

Nice quiver. My gear is limited to mainly backcountry skis: Tua Montours, Karhu Grizzlies and a really old pair of Morotto Telemarks. All rather old now but still functional. The last couple of years have been a struggle to get to the snow but hopefully this year.....
