NGC 5917 and Hooked Galaxy

NGC 5917 and Hooked Galaxy
Hi All,
After stacking this pair, I could hardly see them in Maxim, and I realised that it would require some systematic 32bit stretching in PS.
It turned out to be quite a challenge
About 25x 8m Lum, 12x150s RGB each
Image scale 0.47 arsec/pixel
Image size +- 30x20 arcmin
Captured with MaximDL
Processed with PS CS4
Equipment:
Scope: Celestron EdgeHD 14"
Mount: ASA DDM60
Camera: FLI Microline 11002, Astrodon filters
Guiding: MMOAG with Loadstar camera
Focuser: FLI Atlas
Software:
TheSkyX, ACP Planner, ACP, ACP Scheduler, FMax, MaximDL, Photoshop CS4
Location:
Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Any comments or suggestions welcome.

Dale

Challenging target Dale. Certainly off the beaten path and quite refreshing to some something different. Other than the obvious gradients, I don't think the seeing conditions were in your favour, or perhaps soft focus. Tip of the hat for giving it a shot. Thanks for sharing.

On further reflection - totally overstretched. My subs were too short.
Will try again with longer subs.
