Tuc 47.....2nd favourite Globular

HI Guys,

Imaged from my house Brisbane last night between 7:30pm - 8:30pm...then I watched CSI....lol

Having problems again with my focal reducer....so I have given up on the reducer at the moment...back to imaging at F10.

10" LX200R with cooled modded canon DSLR

10 x 3 minute autoguided exposures ISO400 FL 2500mm F10
1 Dark frame used and NO flats.
Canon Censor temp 2°c ambient 18°c R-Humidity 62%

Hutech LPR filter used..I am finding the color is much better when using this filter over previous images I did of Globs with the UHC-S filter.

I am still getting this large donut 1/2 the size of the image on the reducer that I can not work out and I dont like the field curveture...I am fussy.

What a wonderful image - the full size version is well worth a look and don't forget to make it full size and scroll around in there.

I did notice on some of the brighter stars a red ring around the bottom and a blue ring around the top of the circumference? CA from the corrector plate?

You have been snooping around Dennis...I can get rid of most of that but didn't think I needed too until you come along...hehehe

Thanks guys....I was trying to restrict my editing processing skills to keep as natural as possible.

Mike's just upset because he hasn't got his toy Dinosaurs so he's seeing more pink them most of us....on the serious note Mike you are right...images with moded DSLR still come out very red even though I reduced the red BIAS by a factor of .4
I can still see a very slight pink ting but depends on your monitor.

Great work there, resolved to the core, a tough ask with 47 Tuc due to its high density.

Nothing wrong with that, stick with f10 I reckon. Pink? Not me. Not even diffraction spiked, perfect.

Nice image Tony, when I look at the full frame the outer stars seem to be wearing red beards, CA perhaps or some sort of atmospheric effect??

Not sure the cause...with my Old C11 there were larger red & Blue halo around the bright stars.

More then likely it's the optics...not concerned at all over it.

Could it be slightly out of collimation...????

Alandee...sure I can do a right up on how to focus the LX200r.

1) Turn the focus knob.....lol

Seriously yes I can do a step by step post on how I focus my LX200R....it's the most important part on a night of imaging.

I sometimes see a similar effect with my C9.25.
